According to Yemen post sources, the Japanese engineer released few minutes ago.
A deal for the release of the Japanese engineer who was kidnapped by tribesmen in Sana'a early last week was reached on Sunday.
Under the deal between the local authorities and the elders and dignitaries in the district of Arhab, northeast Sana'a, to where the foreigner was taken on Sunday, engineer Tak You Mashmyu, 63, is to be freed on Monday.
Deputy governor of Sana'a Ahmed Munassar told the mouthpiece of the ruling party, the Almotamar website, that the mediation committee struck the deal with the elders and dignitaries that the release will take place in exchange for continuing efforts to meet the demand of the kidnappers which is to release one of their relatives held by the authorities four years ago.
Munassar also rejected the reports that the Japanese was kidnapped by Al-Qaeda fugitives after he was abducted by the tribesmen.
The reports noted on Saturday that Al-Qaeda affiliates took the engineer from the district to Jawf province.
Local sources also told the website that a meeting was held on Sunday chaired by Sana'a Governor Noman Duwaid in which the kidnappers committed themselves to release the hostage on Monday, otherwise the authorities will intervene and release him in cooperation with the people in the district by force.
Yemen says the inmate who the kidnappers seek his release n exchange for the release of the Japanese was held on charges on links to Al-Qaeda.
He fought in Iraq against international troops and traveled to Lebanon and Syria, Yemen said.
