The Saudi-led coalition has deployed more troops and heavy equipment including tens of tanks to Yemen's province of Taiz as part of the plan to retake it from the Houthi militants, local military sources said on Saturday.
The reinforcements were stationed on the southern and eastern outskirts coinciding with Houthi reinforcements coming through the western and northern parts, the sources said.
Lately, the coalition deployed forces into Taiz and airdropped weapons and munitions for the pro-government forces within the preparations for the battle to librate the province.
In the past two days, new UAE troops arrived in Aden replacing their colleagues who had been serving in Yemen for months.
The developments come amid raging confrontations between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants in several parts of Taiz.
In other provinces including Marib, the battles continued as the coalition resumed heavy airstrikes against Houthi forces killing around 37 of them in Marib and Saada, well-informed sources said.
The coalition has been bombing the Houthis since March.
Today, it intensified airstrikes in Saada, the birthplace of the Houthis, killing around four civilians, Houthi media reported.
The raids destroyed two bridges and many properties, the reports said.
Baidha, Sanaa, Jawf, Marib and Dhali province also received fresh airstrikes.
