Yemen is bracing for a hurricane with a speed of around 125 mph which is approaching southern and eastern regions
On Saturday, president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi ordered to form an operations room to face the hurricane.
Moreover, he gave an order to coordinate operations with countries to be hit by it, according to state media.
The world meteorological organization said satellite images showed the Chabala storm has developed into a strong hurricane in the Arab Sea and that it is heading toward Yemen and Oman.
The hurricane will lead to floods, landslides and affect infrastructure, it said, while urging concerned countries to take necessary measures.
Separately, battles between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants in the cities of Taiz, Ibb, Baidha, Marib and Jawf.
In addition, local sources said battles between the forces and the militants broke out today in some parts of the southern city of Lahj.
The militants were trying to infiltrate into the city but the forces repelled the attack killing and injuring around 20 militants, the sources said.
With support from the Saudi-led coalition, the Yemeni forces have retaken most of the southern regions including Lahj from the Houthis.
