A car bomb was detonated near the military hospital in the capital Sanaa on Monday, the latest in a fresh wave of bombings in the city amid months of violence across Yemen.
Sources said there were casualties mostly civilians coinciding with reports the bombing targeted a building where Houthi leaders were gathering.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Five car bombings were exploded in Sanaa in the past 12 days killing and injuring scores of people mostly civilians.
Meanwhile, confrontations between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants continued in several cities today.
Moreover, the Saudi-led Arab coalition carried out fresh airstrikes against Houthi positions, weapons and camps in the city of Marib where the pro-government forces took over more positions from the Houthis, locals said.
In Aden, eyewitnesses said the Houthis targeted the oil port at the Aden refinery for a second time today while the authorities were tacking fire following a previous attack on the port.
The first attack was carried out on Saturday and pipelines and crude tanks caught fire after rockets landed at the port.
