The UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh said on Monday a UN-sponsored conference on Yemen will be held later this month.
The conference is likely to be held on May 28 in Geneva.
It will bring representatives from all factions including the Houthi militant group to find a solution to the post-Houthi takeover crisis.
The group boycotted a three-day conference on Yemen which was kicked off Sunday in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh.
In April, the UN announced the failure of the transition process which it had been sponsoring since early 2012.
Moreover, the Geneva conference will address the catastrophic humanitarian situation as more than half of the Yemeni population are facing lacks of fuels, foods and medicines.
Post-Houthi takeover violence and a blockade on the country's ports by Saudi-led Arab countries were to blame for the lacks of supplies.
Meanwhile, sources said a new ceasefire or an extension of the ceasefire which expired on Sunday night is likely to be announced in Geneva.
The Arab alliance resumed airstrikes on the Houthi militants immediately after the five-day ceasefire expired.
Spokesperson for the alliance, Ahmed Asiri, told TVs the fresh fresh airstrikes were conducted in response to Houthi breach of the truce mainly through continuing violence in Yemen and shelling border Saudi cities.
