The Yemeni authorities will start repair works to electric power pylons in Marib city Saturday or Sunday, an official from the Marib gas-fired plant told the Saba agency.
The repair works will continue for three to four days in case there was no incidents that might affect the repair, Houthi-controlled Saba quoted the official as saying.
The repair works in the Jadaan area was scheduled to begin on Friday but an exchange of fire forced the technicians to leave the site, the source said.
Tribal mediators have been exerting major efforts to guarantee the access of technicians into the damage sites, the source said, while urging all people to cooperate with the technicians in order to put an end to the people's suffering.
The pylons were damaged after battles between local tribes in Marib and Houthi militants broke out weeks ago.
As a result the country's main Marib power plant was shut down leaving cities including the capital Sanaa to stay in darkness.
A lock of fuels blamed on Houthi confiscation of the national fuel reserve for their battles and a blockade on the country's ports added to the crisis.
The blockade was part of a military operation by the Saudi-led Arab coalition against the Houthi militants after ousting the transition president and government.
It has affected all imports including diesel and mazot forcing the shutdown of small stations that supply cities with power during emergency situations.
Meanwhile, fuels for power stations arrived in Yemen as aid started to flow during a five-day humanitarian ceasefire.
