Houthi militants have rejected a decree by President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi appointing prime minister Khalid Bahah as Vice President.
The group said in a statement that Hadi's decisions don't concern them and that any political appointments should be taken through a dialog inside the country.
Hadi, who is currently in Saudi Arabia, appointed Bahah for the post on Sunday. Bahah remains the prime minister as well.
Houthis lifted house arrest of Bahah and several ministers in March.
Houthis placed President Hadi and the government under house arrest after they had tightened grip on power in January.
Hadi fled the house arrest into Aden in February.
Weeks ago, Houthis with support from forces loyal to ex-president invaded the south seeking to fight al- Qaedah as they said.
They have been stuck in some southern cities as local popular resistance committees have been fighting back.
