Yemeni students on Sunday held a sit-in within the campus of Sanaa University to demand Houthi militants leave cities and condemn illegal Houthi acts including crackdown on peaceful protests.
They carried placards reading slogans rejecting Houthi coup and undermining the political process.
The sit-in was held in the campus to avoid Houthi crackdown.
In past weeks, Houthis attacked demonstrations in the capital city of Sanaa assaulting and arresting tens of activists and protesters.
Meanwhile, demonstrations have been escalated in the wake of the Houthi seizure of the presidential palace and brigades as well as as Houthis are still putting the transition president and prime minister under house arrest.
Separately, well-informed sources said the UN-backed talks to end the current deadlock has failed. No deal has been agreed by Yemeni factions because of Houthi inflexibility and withdrawal of some factions, the sources said, adding the talks are expected to continue.
