The demonstrators carried placards including slogans condemning the presence of Houthi militias in the city and international silence toward Houthi crimes and abuses. They also condemned bombing houses and killing foes while calling on the government to intervene to stop illegal acts in the city. Houthis arrested Faisal Mokaram, one of the activists who organized the demonstration, one of the protesters said. In recent weeks, Houthis clashed with citizens in the Qaida town while they continued to complete their control of the city which is located next to Taiz. In October, tribes in several areas of Ibb and Houthis reached a ceasefire after weeks of deadly clashes. The violence erupted when Houthis arrived in Ibb after seizing the capital and other cities. Lately, mass demonstrations were staged in several cities including the capital Sanaa to denounce presence and abuses of Houthi militants. Demonstrators also urged the government to avoid inclusion of Houthi militants within the security and armed forces. The government has recently revealed measures were underway to include Houthi militants within the national forces I an effort to disarm the heavily armed Houthi Group and end chaos in main cities.
