The Yemeni D Media 3 and the Saudi Unicom companies merged on Monday under the name of Unicom 3D Media, the Yemeni Saba agency reported.
The new group will have a main branch in Yemen and branches in other countries, where Unicom exists, it said.
Abdullah Ismail, head of the D Media 3 told the agency the new group will launch a TV channel and it will operate largely in Yemen and Suadi Arabia, with the main office to be in Riyadh.
The Unicom 3D Media will provide services including those which D Media 3 provided in Yemen before the merger, he said. "In addition, new services will be offered such as TV and broadcast production and a China-based office for the company will be opened," he continued, according to Saba.
The merger comes within the efforts to activate cooperation between Yemeni and Saudi businessmen according to the bilateral agreements signed by both countries, he said.
Unicom is a holding Saudi group which includes nine companies and a numebr of factories. It operates in ten countries.
