Some 37 youth coalitions in the squares of change and freedom in Yemen's capital Sana'a and other cities sent on Tuesday separate letters to the ambassadors of China and the Russian Federation to Sana'a.
The letters criticized the positions of the Chinese and Russian governments towards the peaceful revolution at the meeting of the recent UN Security Council on Yemen. The positions of China and Russia were not clear and helped not to condemn the deadly crackdown on the antigovernment protests and other criminal acts against the civilians, who seek change in Yemen, the youths said in their letters.
"We urge the two countries to reconsider their attitudes and look at the popular uprising in Yemen through their interests and building better ties with our republic in the future," they added.
When the unrest entered a third month in Yemen in April, the Security Council held a meeting at which Russia and China resisted any interference in Yemen's affairs.
But at the end, it was enough for the council to urge restraint amid the continuous protests.
