Yemen and Kuwait Monday signed in principal an agreement under
which the latter will provide $ 50 million in loan for the Social
Development Fund SDF.
The loan comes within financial pledges Kuwait had promised to provide for Yemen in the 2006 London Donor Conference. The Government of Japan has decided it will grant about $ 80.000 in aid to improve medical activities at the Wadi Thar Medical Center in the Hamdan district of Sana’a. The grant comes within a Japanese program dedicated to supporting small projects dealing with basic services for the people of the rural areas in the developing countries. These projects cover providing primary health services, basic education and supplying water. The grant would be used to buy equipment for the center in an effort to improve medical services for the people in general and pregnant women in particular to help them get rid of suffering The agreement for the donation was signed on Monday in Sana’a by Japan’s acting ambassador and director of the Health Office in the district. |
