YP Staff to Observe Azerbaijani Presidential Elections

Yemen Post staff members left last Sunday for Azerbaijan to participate in observing the presidential elections conducted over the period Oct. 14 -17. Moneer Al-Omari, along with a number of Yemen Post Staff members were invited by the World Network Observers to act as international observers, as the Yemen Post staff were chosen to be the sole representatives from Gulf countries to observe the Azerbaijan elections. Azerbaijan - a nation with a Turkic and majority Muslim population - regained its independence after the collapse of the former Soviet Union in 1991. The country has a wealth of oil resources.
