The Supreme Council of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) called upon its branches and members in all provinces and election centers to adhere to JMP announced stances and not to deal with the present Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER).

In their released statement, the JMP also demanded its members not to participate in the committees formed by the ruling party, the General People Congress (GPC), whether in personal or partisan name and to work also for raising awareness among citizens.

"Participation in this disgraceful farce shall mean stripping them of their will, prolong corruption's age, undermine their lives and dignity, threaten the future of their sons, waste state resources and wealth as well as enabling the ruling party to follow the path that produces crises and disasters," said the release.

It further stressed that the existing SCER is illegitimate and added that this commission is forcibly imposed on the political life through the power of the ruling majority, holding the SCER and GPC legally responsible for their acts against the constitution, the laws as well as the wasted money.

Moreover, the release assured that the peaceful change based on free and impartial elections is the only option for saving and safeguarding Yemen, calling on JMP members, followers and the faithful people to continue their struggle with possible means until they achieve the comprehensive reforms as for reforming the whole electoral system and reinforcing democracy as a public demand.
